The Structure of Thriller Openings

Structure of Thriller Openings
We have Observed that there are three different structures for thriller openings...

  • A narrative opening with the titles running through out:
A story is happening and the titles are coming on top (during) the story/action
One of a narrative opening example would be the opening sequence of Dexter.

  • Discrete title sequence:
A title sequence without the narrative but with Edited sequences that stand apart from the opening

James Bond opening Sequence is an example of a Discrete title sequence

  • Titles over a blank screen, Followed by the narrative opening:
Blank screen with titles over it; Some movies Start with titles rolling over a blank screen, with sound effects or a sound track before introducing images.
